The decision, made this week by the board of historic preservation specialists, aligns with the May 17th design approval by Telluride’s Historic Architectural Review Commission.

When Telluride Arts purchased the property in 2018, the nonprofit added a layer of protection to the facade with a Deed of Conservation Easement that ensures that the National Historic Landmark will be restored to meet the highest preservation standards and positions the project for grants to support the restoration.

A grant of $200,000 from the Foundation helped support the initial stabilization of the historic ruin.

In the letter of approval, Cindy Nasky, the Director of Preservation Programs for the Foundation stated: “Thank you for the opportunity to work with you in this process. We look forward to seeing this exciting project come to fruition.”

Visit Telluride Arts’ website to see the approved designs. Our fundraising efforts are in full force as we approach our October deadline.

Every dollar counts!
