MORE INFO:

The Transfer Warehouse is a central community gathering place. Activating the Warehouse during the pandemic provided a clear indication that the community valued the space in its rawest form, so a new architectural firm, Olson-Kundig, was enlisted to spearhead the restoration of the treasured landmark.

The adaptive reuse of the Transfer Warehouse is planned as roughly 15,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor community space to be used for exhibitions, lectures, gatherings, and cultural events of all kinds. The new structure will provide more robust programming expanding the venue’s capabilities while satisfying the town’s development requirements to prioritize the space as a community benefit.

At the street level, the character of the existing courtyard condition will be preserved and the historic façade will be restored to its original character. All three levels of the project: the ground floor, basement, and roof deck will function as space for community activities, while the basement will have a catering kitchen and workspace for the arts council.

The improved Transfer Warehouse, under an open sky with sweeping views of the surrounding landscape, will allow the organization to host a wider range of creative individuals in this landmark building.
