Applications are now being accepted for Telluride Arts’ 2022 Small Grants for Artists. Complete applications must be received by midnight on Friday, December 17, 2021. Applications will be reviewed in January and funded as soon as February 1, 2022.
The Telluride Arts Small Grants program is a long-term investment to develop the expertise of local artists funded by the Town of Telluride CCAASE Fund and administered by Telluride Arts. Funds support individual artists working in the visual, media, performing and literary arts. Artist projects may include (but are not limited to) the development, creation, completion or presentation of new work; and professional development such as conferences, workshops, residencies and classes.
Since its inception in 1999, the Small Grants program has supported over 300 artists, helping them to deepen their skills and share their work. Artists are required to share work with the Telluride community through a performance, publication, exhibit, screening, or a written or photo documentation of the project, in print or online. Telluride Arts will provide additional support through our spaces, marketing, and coordination, as possible.
A peer panel of artists and arts professionals who represent multiple creative disciplines review each application, and then gather to evaluate the proposals and carefully award funding that will be meaningful to the artist’s personal advancement. The quality and quantity of proposals has increased each year, a testament to the strong creativity that continues to thrive in Telluride’s box canyon.
In addition to Small Grants, Telluride Arts also awards Amplify Grants, Flash Grants, and Art + Architecture Grants.
Amplify Grants seek to foster mutual exchange of aesthetic, social, and political understanding through artistic interaction among diverse artists, the Telluride community, and the greater southwest Colorado region. Funding is earmarked specifically to encourage expression and amplify the voices of minority artists living and/or working in the Telluride area, and applications are rolling.
Flash Grants fund small, but impactful, guerrilla-style art happenings that bring more art to the streets and to the people in Telluride. Again, applications are rolling.
And lastly, Art + Architecture Grants are coming back and better than ever in 2022! These grants are available to support artists to produce new, site-specific work as part of the Telluride Art + Architecture Weekend.
Stay tuned for the rollout of more information on A+A Grants!
