Original Thinkers: Introducing OT Spotlight Series + Other Program Info!

Telluride-based Original Thinkers (OT) is a thoughtful ideas festival regularly scheduled for September 30 – October 3, 2021, in Telluride – and this year, virtually 10/1 – 10/31.

The weekend generally features 10 programs, each built around a particular idea explored through a compelling mix of speakers, films, performance, and art. The program typically delves into the human condition by focusing on the intersection of ideas and individual stories.

Full program is here.

The following is a note from OT Founder/Ringleader David Holbrooke with additional program information.

We have put together an exciting OT festival happening both in person in Telluride Sept 30 – Oct 3 and virtually for the month of October. The programming celebrates Joy, spotlights inspiring stories, delves into healing and embraces resistance among other great ideas. We hope these shows will inspire you, provide new perspectives and give you a deeper understanding of how to grapple with these troubling times.

Check out the line-up and schedule. We are excited that our hybrid model allows virtual passholders to experience the six in-person festival shows plus four additional ones. With the virtual festival, the majority of the shows will be available the entire month of October, however a few of our feature films will have a limited release, so please check show dates so you don’t miss out.

And wait there’s more…OT Spotlights! OT Spotlights are a new offering this year, they feature individual original thinkers talking about their field of expertise.

Speakers for the Spotlight Series include:

Dr. Paul Farmer on equity in global health
Actor and Buddhist priest Peter Coyote giving a Dharma Talk
Psychedelic expert Rachel Kolar on the advances in healing
Activist and poet Malcolm London on the power of language
Singer Chris Pierce in concert and conversation with musicologist Nic Harcourt

Some of these Spotlights will be part of our Telluride program, but all will be available virtually.

In Telluride, there will also be a bunch of events and parties happening over the weekend so if you have already bought a pass, we look forward to seeing you here. If you have not, we are sold out of Big Idea Passes, but do have a few Eureka passes still available, which is a great way to support the mission of Original Thinkers. We also hope you will consider a virtual pass for yourself or as a gift for others or for a school. Please reach out if you have any thoughts about this or if the price is prohibitive and we are happy to figure something out that works.

Thanks for believing in what we are doing…
