Second Chance Humane Society is once again partnering with the Bow Wow Film Festival to bring you humorous and heart-warming, dog-inspired short films. Whether or not you are a dog lover, these films will remind you of why dogs are people’s best friend.
Purchase tickets and view the Bow Wow Film Festival trailer at www.BowWowFilmFest.com. As this will be a virtual event again this year, Second Chance’s auction will be online as well. Both events run through August 6.
This year’s auction features a variety of artwork, gift certificates to your favorite restaurants, jewelry, self-care packages, clothing, fun pet gear, and many unique gift-giving ideas as well. For example, a popular item titled “The Best Kid’s Birthday Party Ever,” includes a private party at the Second Chance Shelter interacting with the adoptable puppies and kittens and making treats and toys for the dogs and cats.
Bow Wow is an innovative, traveling dog-themed film festival available from the comfort of your own home. Through the art of short film Bow Wow celebrates the human-canine bond and the marvelous ways these beloved animals inspire us, care for us and bring us joy.
Since folks weren’t thinking about making dog movies during a pandemic, Bow Wow decided to select the most memorable films from the last five tours. There were almost 100 remarkable films to choose from. It wasn’t easy, but the team selected docs that will make you laugh or cry (the good kind) and inspire you with stories that need to be shared.
Bow Wow partners with animal welfare organizations across the country to enthusiastic audiences in cities that include Austin, TX; Minneapolis, MN; Denver, CO; and San Francisco, CA to raise money and awareness for animal care. The films are crafted by amazing storytellers, animators and artists, as seen in the 90 wonderful minutes of award-winning, funny, and poignant shorts.
All proceeds from Bow Wow and the auction directly benefit the broad range of life-saving programs and services Second Chance has been providing Ouray, Montrose and San Miguel Counties for the past 27 years. In addition to rescuing cats and dogs, programs include low-cost medical clinics, educational programs, the Tri-County Pet Pantry, and more. Discover details at www.AdoptMountainPets.org.
