Summer is here and live music is back!

The Telluride Mountain Village Owners Association (TMVOA) and Beyond the Groove Productions are delighted to announce the return of “Music on the Green” in Mountain Village, Colorado.

“Music on the Green,” a free summer concert series, takes place on Friday evenings from 5 to 7 p.m., June 4 through September 10, at the Reflection Plaza in Mountain Village, adjacent to the Madeline Hotel & Residences, Auberge Resorts Collection

“We are ecstatic to kick off the summer season with Music on the Green at Reflection Plaza. It’s such an exciting opportunity to invite you all to experience the newly reimagined Madeline Hotel and Residences, and the vibrance and energy of these Friday night acts in Mountain Village is an incredible step forward for us all,” said Bryan Woody, General Manager of Madeline Hotel & Residences, Auberge Resorts Collection.

“It is the place to be on Friday night,” said Anton Benitez, President & CEO of TMVOA.

To add to the excitement, Beyond the Groove is pleased to announce local favorites, Freddy & Francine, to kick off the summer concert series on June 4 in support of their timely, soulful new album, I AM AFRAID TO DIE!

They say hindsight is 20/20. Foresight is even better. Nashville’s powerful husband/wife duo Freddy & Francine had just that while writing their new album, I AM AFRAID TO DIE! last year. They couldn’t have known it then, but by the time the album would be ready for release, the world would be in the grip of a global pandemic – and they would have already painted its picture song by song.

If you ask Freddy & Francine (whose actual names are Lee Ferris and Bianca Caruso), the album’s timeliness is no coincidence.

“We have been observing for some time now what we feel to be the end of the world. We’re referring to the end of connection, vulnerability, presence, authenticity: The better angels of our nature are on the brink of extinction,” says Ferris. “The Coronavirus Pandemic only adds more anxiety on top of what we have been experiencing for some time.”

The album’s 10 songs are as universally relatable as all great songs are, but listening in 2020, it’s impossible to look past their immediate relevance.

“Music On The Green is an intimate outdoor concert held Friday evenings from 5–7 p.m. in Mountain Village during the summer months. Now in its fourth year, the concert series features nationally touring musicians, many of whom are playing Telluride for the first time. Past acts include J.S. Ondara, Robert Ellis, Brent Cowles, Joe Pug, I Draw Slow, even the Dirty Dozen Brass Band graced our stage!” said Denise Mongan of Beyond the Groove Productions.

Situated in the heart of the breathtaking San Juan Mountains, Mountain Village was incorporated in 1995 as a home rule municipality. Its founders envisioned a European-style ski-in/ski-out, pedestrian-friendly destination resort that would complement the historic mining town of Telluride. A three-stage gondola transportation system connects the Town of Mountain Village with the Town of Telluride. Situated at 9,500 feet, Mountain Village is comparably a world apart from other resorts: it is innately spectacular, beautifully orchestrated and planned, and overflowing with style, charm, and sophistication.
