Ah Haa: Summer News!

Ah Haa: Summer News!

The following is a note from Telluride’s Ah Haa School for the Arts with summer news about its new home, programs, classes and the annual auction.

Ah Haa School for the Arts is excited to move into its beautiful new home at the Silver Jack Building in the downtown Telluride Arts District and begin sharing programs, classes and workshops with the community. Telluride’s new arts hub is a 10,000 square-foot, purpose-built community center with enhanced studios and thoughtfully designed classrooms that will spark expanded opportunities for participation.

The exact move-in date is very much dependent on construction operations, which are moving along toward completion. That said, the timeline has been set back a bit, which means we will not be able to offer public classes and workshops in June or July. That time will be dedicated to moving in and setting up our studios and classrooms in preparation for our public opening. We will also be able to utilize the time to “test-run” our brand new equipment to make sure we can operate fully and safely. It is our hope and expectation to open up to the public in August.

The Ah Haa To Go Kit program will remain in place, with added kits and opportunities for art creation anywhere! Each kit features materials and instructions for completing a specific art project – from a simple bookbinding activity to embroidery and coiled basketry which you can do anywhere.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate all of the moving parts. This exciting time for Ah Haa represents years of planning, anticipation, and support, not to mention the vast wealth of talent our instructors have brought to the school over three decades.

Please be sure you’re on our Mailing List and keep checking our website for up-to-the-minute information on all things Ah Haa, including options for To Go Kits and a number of opportunities to help us celebrate Ah Haa’s reopening and 30-year anniversary.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Our annual Art Auction will be online again this year, kicking off on Friday, July 16 and closing on August 5, with Art Walk.

Because we want to make this annual tradition available to everyone, regardless of where you might be this summer, the Art Auction will be online again offering two weeks of virtual bidding on a fun and fantastic array of art, experiences, and opportunities. Your active participation will help raise critical funds to help Ah Haa School for the Arts continue to nourish the creative spirit through classes, workshops, programs, and events for people of all ages in our community.
