It is that time of the year again! Spring Clean Up 2021, an opportunity to purge and prosper, is right around the corner.

At EcoAction’s annual (Spring and Fall) Clean Up events you’ll witness citizens and businesses properly disposing of their unwanted electronic waste (e-waste), household waste, and hazardous waste (HAZMAT).

E-waste can be quickly categorized as anything that runs on electricity or batteries.

Household waste describes mattresses, bikes, and those old skis you were going to make a chair out of.

HAZMAT is a scary sounding category that surprisingly includes paint, light bulbs, mothballs, and weed killers. San Miguel County and Alpine Bank provide funding to hire 3R Technology Solutions, from Denver, to handle e-waste, and Clean Harbors to manage HAZMAT.

EcoAction’s 2021 Spring Clean Up events will be held in Telluride at the Carhenge Parking Lot on May 21st and 22nd, Mountain Village in the Market Plaza Parking Lot on May 21st, and Norwood at the San Miguel County Fairgrounds on May 22nd.

E-waste will be accepted from 10 AM to 2 PM in Telluride, Mountain Village, and Norwood.

Household waste disposal will be available from 10 AM to 4 PM in just Telluride and Norwood.

HAZMAT will be accepted from 10 AM to 2 PM only in Telluride.

Please be aware, fees apply for a few items such as TVs and some HAZMAT, but please don’t let that discourage you from your spring-cleaning EcoAction-style.
