02 Apr Telski: Announcing Uphill Access Policy, Opening 4/10!
Telluride Ski Resort’s uphill access for backcountry users will open to the public on April 10th, 2021. The Ski Resort will be closed to ALL-ACCESS from April 5th through April 9th for Resort post-closing operations.
The Ski Resort permit area will open to non-motorized traffic ONLY – snowmobiles are not allowed. Remember to know before you go and check the local avalanche forecast before skiing on the Resort after closing day.
Upon the closing of the Ski Resort, Ski Patrol will no longer be available to respond to on-mountain incidents and all avalanche mitigation work will cease. Please treat the terrain on the Resort as backcountry terrain, be prepared for self-rescue, and call 911 in the case of any emergency. Mountain Operations continue through the off-season, so please be alert to snow machines traveling around the mountain, plowing of the summer road network, and unmarked hazards.
The annual elk-calving closure will begin May 20th, closing the Prospect Basin until June 30th.
