Community Climate Ed. & Action Series: Green Business Event, 3/25!

Launched last year, a new community climate education and action series, marks a collaboration between the Telluride Rotary Club, Telluride’s Wilkinson Public Library and EcoAction Partners and other organization focused on more sustainable living in the Telluride region. It is all part of the ALA’s (American Library Association) Resilient Communities initiative.

For more, head to the Library’s event page here.

The following is a note from Madeline Gonzalez Allen,  founder/organizer.

We’re excited to announce this event for regional businesses (including nonprofits), as part of our new Community Climate Education & Action Series, in partnership with Telluride Rotary Club, EcoAction Partners, Wilkinson Public Library, and others – part of the Community Climate Education & Action series started last year, expanded this year to also be part of an exciting new ALA (American Library Association) Resilient Communities program.

Join the group on March 25th, 6-7 p.m. for a panel session via Zoom, to learn about resources available to help businesses become more “green”/environmentally sustainable in ways that also make good business sense. Hear directly from some of our local businesses helping to lead the way with Green Business!

The event will feature a panel discussion, including representatives from EcoAction Partners, Colorado Dept Public Health & Environment, San Miguel Power Association (SMPA), Black Hills Energy, Jagged Edge, La Cocina de Luz, and Sustaio.

It will be facilitated by me, Madeline Gonzalez Allen (Environmental Officer, Telluride Rotary Club; Telluride Ecology Commission; Co-Founder, InnoVital.)

UPCOMING EVENTS & ACTIONS/PROJECTS WILL INCLUDE :

• Forest Health Forum (Sheep Mountain Alliance, Telluride Ecology Commission)
• Continuation of our Regional Tree-Planting Initiative working with several community partners (a primary call to action from the 2020 Climate Education & Action series)
