The following is a note of appreciation from M2D President Erica Henschel, leading the team (including her family) riding for Telluride’s Just for Kids Foundation‘s virtual 2020 challenge. Donate here.

Hey Team,

First, a huge thank you to all of the friends and family who donated to our Just for Kids Mountains to Desert Virtual Bike Ride this year! With your help, the virtual ride raised over $110,000, which is fantastic!

Secondly, we are happy to report that we completed our 300 mile goal and what a month of riding it has been! In September, we clocked rides in Telluride, Ridgway, Crested Butte, Fruita, Montrose and Rico. Check out some of our pics below. It was such a fun challenge!

If you haven’t already donated, please consider making a donation to help us reach our $150,000 goal and my $3000 goal. All funding is matched dollar for dollar from the Carsten’s Family Fund, so your contribution is doubly important!

Again, Just for Kids Foundation gives money to kids organizations throughout the San Miguel Watershed and the Telluride region. Now more than ever, these programs need our help so that local youth will continue to thrive!

The Just For Kids Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) based in Telluride.

The Foundation provides essential scholarships, operating grants, program support, capital and start-up funding, and new/updated equipment to deserving youth and youth organizations within the towns of Telluride, Norwood, Nucla, Naturita, Paradox and all points in between.

A special focus is placed on projects that offer leadership opportunities and/or promote self-sufficiency and responsibility.
