The venue’s elegant SHOW Bar is open for the summer season Friday and Saturday, 6-10 pm., including the outdoor patio where guests can enjoy your cocktails and home-made pies from the Dolores Market. Also in the mix: Music. This weekend’s SHOW schedule is below. The fun starts Thursday, August 6, in sync with Telluride Arts’ Art Walk. Go here for more on Telluride Plein Air.
Telluride Plein Air, SHOW Bar, joining Telluride Arts’ Art Walk:
Telluride’s Sheridan Arts Foundation (SAF) normally hosts 24 nationally recognized American plein air or Impressionist artists over the Fourth of July weekend for the annual Telluride Plein Air. But that major fundraiser was postponed until fall. Still over two dozen artists agreed to send two Telluride paintings each to be displayed and sold in the Sheridan Opera House’s SHOW Bar in support of the Sheridan Arts Foundation to benefit community programming and the ongoing upkeep and restoration at Telluride’s historic Sheridan Opera House.
Along with Art Walk, Telluride’s Sheridan Arts Foundation proudly presents EMILY SCHOTT ROBINSON live at the SHOW Bar on Thursday, August 6, 6-10 pm.
Thursday, August 6, the Sheridan Opera House joins forces with Telluride Arts’ Art Walk. The Gallery in the SHOW Bar features Plein Air paintings created by 25 nationally renowned American Impressionist artists. The paintings are for sale and the proceeds from sales directly benefit the Sheridan Arts Foundation. (For more on that show, go here.)
The SHOW Bar also features Emily Scott Robinson live for an evening of music.
North Carolina native Emily Scott Robinson has traveled a quarter million miles and counting, paying her dues along the dusty highways of America’s wild country in the RV she calls home. Along the way, she’s captured the stories of the people she met and expertly crafted them into the songs featured on her gorgeous debut studio release, “Traveling Mercies.” Named one of Rolling Stone’s “10 New Country and Americana Artists You Need to Know” for 2019, Robinson received critical acclaim from Billboard, No Depression, and American Songwriter for the stories captured on her new album and performed on the main stage of the 2019 Telluride Bluegrass Festival as winner of the Telluride Troubadour Contest.
The Sheridan Arts Foundation is excited to announce PORTWOOD Live in the SHOW Bar Friday & Saturday, August 7 and August 8, 7 – 9 p.m.
Every Friday and Saturday evening, the Sheridan Opera House’s SHOW Bar is open from 6-10 pm as a converted Plein Air Gallery (40% of all sales directly benefit the Sheridan Arts Foundation), and features different musicians nightly. This weekend, the SHOW Bar will feature Portwood live.
Portwood combines traditional rock, psychedelic blues, and modern melodies with contemporary sound- scapes and beats that are sure to hypnotize and mesmerize listeners.
