Sheridan Opera House: Happening This Summer, Update!

Below is a note from Ronnie Palamar, executive director, Telluride’s Sheridan Arts Foundation.

THE SHOW Bar is now open Friday and Saturday, 4 – 10 p.m.

Dear friends of the Sheridan Opera House,

We hope you are staying healthy and happy during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Sheridan Arts Foundation is committed to ensuring that we do everything we can to keep our community as safe as possible as we look forward to the summer season. We have some exciting plans we can’t wait for you to be a part of, and rest assured we will be implementing all CDC guidelines in our building to protect the community as well as our staff. Make sure you keep scrolling to get more information on some of our our plans!

SHOW Bar- Open Fridays & Saturdays, 4-10 pm!

The beautiful SHOW Bar has extended its outdoor patio to enjoy your cocktails safely and we will be serving home-made pies from the Dolores Market. A slice with a glass of prosecco is only $12!

Additionally, 25 plein air artists are going to be featured all summer as the SHOW Bar, which is being converted into a gallery for the season. A generous percentage of all painting purchases will directly benefit the Sheridan Arts Foundation.

We will also be enforcing CDC guidelines in the SHOW Bar, including mandatory mask-wearing unless you are seated with your drink and pie; limited capacity within the premises; and hand-sanitizer dispensers placed throughout the venue.

While we have had to postpone the 17th annual Telluride Plein Air Festival until September, we have succeeded in obtaining paintings from the 25 nationally recognized artists.

All paintings will also be on sale on the website in addition to our summer-long gallery.

The gallery will be open during normal SHOW Bar hours, but if you would like to make an appointment with Executive Director Ronnie Palamar to view the paintings earlier in the day, call 970-209-5083.

The Sheridan Arts Foundation’s annual Plein Air Festival is the biggest fundraiser of the year and crucial to keeping the doors of Telluride’s historic Sheridan Opera House open. Selected artists have submitted two paintings each: one generously donated in full, allowing us to keep 100 percent of the profit; the sale of a second image gives the SAF a commission of 40%. All funds go directly to the SAF to help us stay alive during the COVID-19 pandemic, as the Opera House has had to cancel most of its programming.
