Club Red: The Motet, 1/4/2020!

Named by Skiing Magazine as one of ski country’s best concert venues, Club Red brings a wide variety of crowd-pleasing entertainers to Telluride and Mountain Village. Given the fact the Telluride region has long been a hotbed for national touring acts, Club Red adds another chapter to that rich history. The intimate music venue inside the Telluride Conference Center in Mountain Village is family-friendly and allows guests to get up close and personal with the talent.

All shows are open to all ages, with a variety of ticket options ranging from general admission to high-table seating to preferred platform seating, and some VIP-ticketed experiences.

Denise Mongan of Beyond the Groove programs the shows at Club Red. And she always nails it. Which means Club Red shows sell out quickly. The line-up for the venue for the 2020 season includes Dennis Quaid & The Sharks (Jan. 18); Samantha Fish (Feb.9); Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, (Feb. 16 & 17); Con Brio (Mar. 12); Anders Osborne & Jackie Greene (Mar. 21).

Next up: The Motet, Jan. 4, 2020. Doors 8 p.m.; show time, 9 p.m.

Tickets,$25 – $55, available here.

Throughout history, unity has started on a dance floor. From ancient tribal cultures to neon night clubs, beats bring bodies together.

Once grinding and grooving in unison, the movement generates friction, sparks, and light. That might just be the purest form of energy on the planet. The Motet harness such energy on their 9nth full-length, Death or Devotion. In fact, the Denver septet — Dave Watts (drums); Joey Porter (keys); Garrett Sayers (bass); Ryan Jalbert (guitar); Lyle Divinsky (vocals); Drew Sayers (sax); and Parris Fleming (trumpet) — encode a message in their energetic mix of boisterous badass funk, swaggering soul, and thought-provoking pop.

In the process, the group challenges convention, arriving as The Motet does, with a dynamic, diverse, and definitive statement.

“Death Or Devotion, The Motet’s ninth album, showcases the band’s reverence for the funk tradition through masterful execution of the style. Each track exudes booty-shaking energy, thanks to airtight grooves from the rhythm section, crisp but nasty horn lines, and soulful vocals,” wrote Bandwagon Magazine.
