02 Aug Play for P.I.N.K Fundraiser a Success
On July 29, the Telluride Ski & Golf Resort hosted the P.I.N.K. Golf Tournament. P.I.N.K. funds are traditionally dedicated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation for state-of-the-art research, as well as to the Telluride Medical Center Foundation’s Preventative Health Fund. The event was a huge success.
More than 100 locals came together on Monday, July 29, for the 13th annual Play for P.I.N.K. Golf Tournament to raise money for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and the Telluride Medical Center Foundation.
Play for P.I.N.K (Prevention, Immediate diagnosis, New technology and Knowledge) uses lifestyle and sporting events to raise funds. All proceeds from the golf tournament go directly to the two charities.
Prior to Monday’s event, Play for P.I.N.K. had raised $139k for breast cancer research and over $170k for health initiatives at the Telluride Medical Center.
Kate Wadley, director of the Telluride Medical Center Foundation, is still tallying this year’s numbers but expects a new fundraising record for the 2019 annual event.
“We’re so grateful to all involved — from our host, the Telluride Ski & Golf Club to the volunteers, sponsors and golfers. It’s an honor and truly humbling to raise money for such important causes,” said Wadley.
In the past, revenue from the Play for P.I.N.K. event have helped to fund discounted services for underserved populations and medical equipment like a fetal monitor and an audiometer, clearly a hole in one.
