On Friday, January 25, 4 p.m., at the Franz Klammer Lodge in Mountain Village, the Telluride Historical Museum invites museums members and Klammer owners and guests to a free aprés chat titled “You Should Be Dead But Somehow You Managed to Survive.” The talk will is scheduled for the Club Room near the Concierge desks.
Join THM board member, local historian, walking encyclopedia Rudy Davison for a compendium of near mining tragedies in the Telluride area during the twilight of the high grade years between 1908-1912. You won’t want to miss this encore presentation of his highly entertaining chat!

Bill & Todd’s Excellent Ames Adventure, aka, Intro to Ice-Climbing & Ames Power Plant Tour, 2/9, 9 a.m. Limited spots available, participants must RSVP and provide their shoe size ahead of time. Excursion costs $80 for members; $150 for everyone else.Transportation, climbing boots and gear will be provided and is included in the price. The outing will last around five hours. Meet at the Telluride Historical Museum at 9:00 a.m. sharp to be fitted for gear.
For the first time ever the Museum is partnering with Bill and Todd of Mountain Trip for a combined ice-climbing and historical tour event.
It’s the next best thing to a time machine…Start off the adventure with a special behind the scenes tour of the Ames Power Plant.
Following this tour, Mountain Trip will provide an introduction to ice-climbing while we explore the totally awesome history and basics of this intense sport.
