The Telluride Foundation hosts Telluride Gives on Wednesday, December 12, 2018. An evening of music to celebrate at Ah Haa closes out the day. The event is hosted by the Foundation and KOTO radio and sponsored by Telluride Properties. Telluride Gives opens at midnight on 12.12.18 and ends at 10:00 p.m. on 12.12.18.

Whether you support early childhood education, the arts, the environment, your local library, or have other philanthropic interests, Telluride Gives is a way for you to give back to your community and support our hardworking regional nonprofits.

Sponsored by the Telluride Foundation, Telluride Gives is happening soon, on 12.12.18. During this day of “crowd-rise” giving, the Foundation asks  every full and part-time resident, as well as every visitor of the region, to log-on to www.telluridegives.org and contribute to their favorite nonprofit. This is an opportunity for everyone who cares about the Telluride region to give locally and collectively to the community.

The Telluride Foundation has been supporting the critical work of regional nonprofits for 18 years.

“We host Telluride Gives every December to help all of our regional nonprofits raise more money as they approach years end,” said Katie Singer, Development Manager for the Telluride Foundation. “We know how difficult it is for each nonprofit to meet their annual fundraising goals, and Telluride Gives provides that extra year-end boost everyone needs. It also helps all of our nonprofits connect to new donors through this 22-hour social media blitz.”

Each participating nonprofit will have the opportunity to post their own unique story. Donors are invited to visit www.telluridegives.org and select which organization(s) they wish to fund and what amount(s) to give. Donors may give to multiple nonprofits or one single cause. One-hundred percent of all donations go to the nonprofit you choose to support (minus any credit card processing fees, which this year, you can opt to pay in addition to your donation, which means more money goes to the nonprofit).

This year, KOTO and the Telluride Foundation are co-hosting an Evening of Music to celebrate and close out Telluride Gives. Generously sponsored by Telluride Properties, the event takes place at the Ah Haa School from 6-10 p.m. and will provide live coverage as the day of giving winds down. A $500 cash giveaways will be awarded to participating nonprofits and live music will be provided by Womack & Cartezz of the Futurebirds.  Complimentary munchies and a cash bar will also be provided.  The price of admission is a minimum $20 donation to the nonprofit of your choice through Telluride Gives. This can be done in advance or at the door.

Historically, Telluride Gives has raised:

• $19,000 from 178 individuals for 29 nonprofits on 11.11.11
• $43,000 from 421 individuals for 40 nonprofits on 12.12.12
• $56,000 from 726 individuals for 57 nonprofits on 11.12.13
• $105,000 from 558 individuals for 59 nonprofits on 12.13.14
• $134,000 from 664 individuals for 72 nonprofits on 12.15.15
• $177,000 from 873 individuals for 93 nonprofits on 12.15.16
• $116,000 from 866 individuals for 85 nonprofits on 12.14.17

“This year we hope to help the nonprofits raise more than ever before and with your help, we can” added Singer.

In addition to co-hosting this year’s Evening of Music, KOTO Community Radio will also be interviewing participating nonprofits and broadcasting information and updates all day long.

“In past years, Telluride Gives has proven that so many people care a great deal about our community,” continued Singer “and we are excited to be able to offer it again this year. Telluride Gives is about our daily lives: our schools, athletics, arts, culture, health, and families – everything that makes our lives and our local community unique. It is also about taking care of one another, providing for families and children in need or in crisis” added Singer.
