Loving the unadulterated joys of winter is something we all have in common with the late, great Warren Miller—who helped create and capture the magic of skiing. This year, new and veteran athletes alike pay tribute to the man who started it all in the “Face of Winter,” the 69th installment from Warren Miller Entertainment (WME), presented by Volkswagen.
In this 69th chapter, WME visits some of Warren’s favorite locations, from Engleberg to Chamonix, British Columbia to Alaska, Chile, Iceland, New Zealand, Washington and more. Watch as world-class athletes such as Anna Segal, Dash Longe, Forrest Jillson, Amie Engerbretson, Simon Hillis, Seth Wescott, Jim Ryan, Jess McMillan, and others carve the faces of remote mountain ranges and pursue the thrills of a life lived in high places.
“This year’s film is for anyone whose life (whether they realize it or not) was impacted by Warren Miller,” says WME Managing Director Andy Hawk. “We are all the face of winter—from the athletes to the audience to the locals in far-off destinations or even at our home mountain. Warren recognized this, and this year’s film celebrates that.”
WME will be working with title sponsor Volkswagen for the second year and is also excited to announce a brand new, three-year exclusive rum partnership with Mount Gay Rum. Other 2018 film tour partners include L.L. Bean, Helly Hansen, Marmot, K2, Black Crows, Marker Dalbello Völkl USA, Tecnica Blizzard, Switzerland Tourism, Ski Portillo and SKI Magazine.
The Sheridan Arts Foundation was founded in 1991 as a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization to preserve the historic Sheridan Opera House as an arts and cultural resource for the Telluride community, to bring quality arts and cultural events to Telluride and to provide local and national youth with access and exposure to the arts through education. The Sheridan Arts Foundation is sponsored in part by grants from the Telluride Foundation, CCAASE and Colorado Creative Industries.
