Step through the looking glass and follow the white rabbit to a land of mystery, wonder and surprises. Telluride Theatre, Telluride’s local performance company, is hosting a very special fundraiser on Friday, July 6.
MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S GALA is an elegant night with dinner and desserts, craft cocktails, pop-up performances, a (small) live-auction, music and other surprises.
There will be immersive art – think Meow Wolf and Alice and Wonderland fused in the mountains by local artists Flair Robinson, Amy Barber, Melissa Harris and Poe Nicodemus.
It should be a party unlike any Telluride has seen, in support of the conveyer belt of entertainment known as Telluride Theatre.
Beyond staging year-round live theatre, Telluride Theatre is home to over 60 local artists – performers, musicians, dancers, designers, visual artists, comics, writers who create an artistic community that adds vibrancy and creativity to the region.
Telluride Theatre also provides year-round educational opportunities to both children and adults.
Its Main Stage productions run the artistic spectrum, from original work to Shakespeare in the Park, from Burlesque to musical theatre.
Telluride Theatre’s Beyond The Box performance series brings theatre-makers from around the country to perform original work and run workshops for the Telluride community.
And finally, The Off produces smaller events that have huge community impact. Most programs are free, including The Downlow – an evening of storytelling — and much more.
Telluride Theatre also produces their children’s Actions Education Tour, which brings theatre to schools in Southwest Colorado.
Books Alive is a collaboration with The Wilkinson Public Library, based on popular children’s literature. The initiative is free for all Telluride students.
