“I’m excited to host this diverse group of artists on the August train” said Steve Gumble, founder of the Durango Blues Train. “These bands present a perfect variety of styles to offer passengers a truly spirited and unique musical journey. Together, they constitute the perfect recipe for a great time.”

On one end of the train is Blues Train veteran artist A.J. Fullerton.

Accompanied by a full band, the 23-year-old will be returning for his third appearance on the Blues Train after having steadily built a reputation as one of the hottest rising talents on the Colorado music scene.

A.J. was awarded top honors in a staggering eight different categories in last year’s Colorado Blues Society “Members’ Choice Awards.”

Fullerton is well known for his skillful finger picking and slide guitar combined with powerful vocals.

On the opposite end of the train will be The Rebekah Meldrum Band.

Steeped in the Delta-style Blues and perfectly blended with the big city sounds of Chicago– that’s what people have come to expect from The Rebekah Meldrum Band.

This preacher’s daughter, who now calls the “Hoosier Hospitality” state of Indiana her home, has been captivating audiences for the last four years, which is when she came onto the music scene.

Molly Gene joins the list making her first appearance aboard the Blues Train.

Gene is a self-professed “One Whoaman Band” and one of the most promising voices on today’s music landscape. With seven years of writing, performing, and constant touring under her belt, this Missouri-based singer-songwriter combines heavy foot drum stomps with distorted guitar slides seamlessly pairing Blues with rock & roll.

Giving riders a glimpse of the Delta Blues is D.W. Doucet.

Armed with an old racing stripe suitcase from NY circa 1950, an anvil made from a railroad track that he pummels with an old blacksmith hammer, and chains stomping on his left foot, D.W. bellows homegrown songs backed by slide guitar, banjo and finger picking country style blues.

Adding to the cadre of talent, Blues Train veteran artist Cary Morin returns as one of the best acoustic pickers on the scene today, with deft finger-style guitar and mesmerizing vocals.

Morin crafts an inimitable style often characterized as acoustic Native Americana with qualities of blues, bluegrass, jazz, jam, reggae, and dance.

Rounding out the 2018 lineup is RL Cole, a powerhouse solo performer.

Cole was recently named a Denver artist to watch by music critics at Westword Magazine.

Cole weaves a retro style and tone with an electric, energetic howl. His unique, wild performances combine a hard-to-match mix of rock & roll, early psychedelic, and blues ballads.
