Telluride Theatre presents song, dance and Pick-a-Prize raffle at the Palm. A fundraiser for Telluride Theatre. One night only, August 20 at The Palm. Doors at 6:30 p.m., open for raffle and cash bar. Show time is 8 p.m. Age 21+ only. Last years’s show exploded with energy and sensuality, knee-capping (with sharp kicks from a chorus line of shapely legs) most fundraisers in a few short hours of theatrical magic. The Billie Jeans, all the other Pretty Young Things, and everyone else in the audience flipped. A number of numbers got standing ovations.

For a Telluride night to remember, you simply could not have Beat It. One sparkly white-gloved hand to my heart, Telluride Theatre Sings! was a killer diller Thriller.

But that was then.

This is now.

And that is wow: guaranteed Telluride Theatre & friends will once again rock you.

The happening is Saturday, August 20, at Telluride Theatre’s second annual SINGS! FUNdraiser at the Palm Theatre. Again the event features local singers and dancers theatricalizing a very famous album; the a Pick-A-Prize raffle tops off the action, giving audience members an opportunity to win valuable prizes.

“This ONE NIGHT ONLY event is a celebration,” explains Anna Robinson, director of this year’s SINGS. “We are celebrating the amazing sounds of one of the most iconic bands in western culture, also the fact that theatre is thriving in the Telluride community. Local performers will fill the stage and you will see incredibly creative interpretations of each and every song.”

Here’s how the raffle works: Participants buy raffle tickets for a small fee (starting at $10 for a sheet of 20 tickets) and place them in the jars of ONLY the items they want to win. Thanks to generous donations from local businesses, Telluride Theatre is excited to offer prizes that include hotel stays, tickets to local events, discounts on outerwear, massages, a historical tour and sleigh ride, and so much more. Prizes range in value up to $999.00. Everyone is invited to enjoy the show and toss in to win a raffle prize.

“This is going to be a great party,” said Sasha Sullivan, Artistic Director of Telluride Theatre. “We’re celebrating our sold-out run of Shakespeare in the Park and gearing up for more shows in the fall and winter.
