Hosted by Telluride Theatre, the Downlow is an evening of storytelling that has become wildly successful and popular over the past year. This is a one-of-a-kind Telluride event, where non-performers and people you see each day get up to bare their souls, recounting true events and sharing some outrageous, funny, touching, and incredible stories for the community.

Telluride Theatre guides the storytellers, helping them craft their story for an audience and preparing them for the show. Each night has a different theme and stories are chosen accordingly.

This edition, located at the Telluride Transfer Warehouse, will feature “It Was a Phase.”

Doors open at 7 p.m. There will be a cash bar. The event begins at 8 p.m. Telluride Theatre Members get reserved seats, otherwise, please arrive 15-30 minutes early, as this is a free un-ticketed event, open to the public. Seats are on a first-come, first-served basis.

Sunday, July 3: Telluride Arts Soiree in the Warehouse

Note: ages 21 and up.

Join Telluride Arts in celebrating 110 years of the Transfer Warehouse with the second annual Telluride Transfer Warehouse Community Fundraising Party on Sunday, July 3.

Built in 1906, the Telluride Transfer Company Warehouse is an imposing, two-story, sandstone structure located at the southwest corner of Pacific Avenue. A restoration of this historic site is in the works. When done, the Transfer Warehouse becomes a community gathering place and center for the arts.

Look forward to craft cocktails by Jerry LaBonte from There Bar, a red carpet, and a lively community atmosphere under the stars. DJ Unicorn Boss (and associates) will provide fresh beats from 8-11 p.m.

The fundraiser will support the efforts of Telluride Arts to save the Warehouse.

The building is a National Historic Landmark in the heart of downtown that has been roofless and deteriorating since 1978. Now, Telluride Arts is in the process of transforming the structure into a contemporary space for the arts.

The Transfer Warehouse is quintessential Telluride, but because Telluride is a window on the world, restored, the complex will serve as a community gathering place and magnet for artists and thinkers from across the globe. The vision is to create an international landmark which looks back at Telluride’s mining history and forward into our future as a ski resort with a difference, a center for the arts and learning.

Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance, available at TellurideArts.org, or $20 at the door.
