18 Feb Sunday at the Palm: “Nocturna”
The Telluride Film Festival’s Sunday at the Palm presents “Nocturna,” 4 p.m. Free.
The Telluride Film Festival is pleased to present the Sunday at the Palm series in collaboration with the Telluride R-1 School District. These free, community screenings run throughout the school year and continue this month with Adrià García and Víctor Maldonado’s animated nighttime adventure, “Nocturna.”
GKids, a New York City-based distributor who specializes in the presentation of the world’s finest children’s cinema, works with the Telluride Film Festival to bring these memorable films to the region.
“Nocturnal” is a lovely tale from Spain and France (this version is in English) that explores the secret mysteries of the night. Who messes up your hair while you sleep? What are dreams? Where do nighttime sounds come from?
Childhood questions are answered through the explorations of a young boy named Tim. One night, Tim leaves the rooftop of his orphanage in the company of an unlikely companion – Cat Shepherd, the nighttime guardian of cats. The boy notices the stars are disappearing, so the two adventurers take off into the land of Nocturna to find out why.
