The Telluride AIDS Benefit is pleased to announce the new 2016 fashion show artistic team; artistic director, Colin Sullivan and choreographer Jessica Galbo.

Sullivan and Galbo created a unique, fun, and touching show for 2016 entitled Sex, Drugs, Rock & Roll: The Story of HIV/AIDS Through The Decades. The production will feature fashion, dance, and music from the 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s, while also following the history of the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

This year, the Telluride AIDS Benefit Gala Fashion Show will be held Saturday, February 27, 2016; the Sneak Peek show takes place Thursday, February 25both at the Telluride Conference Center in Mountain Village.

Colin Sullivan, is currently executive director of Telluride Theater, as well as a talented company actor, director, and local teacher beloved by his middle school students.

Sullivan has been a TAB volunteer and performer and served past artistic directors as movement choreographer and theatrical consultant.

Colin Sullivan holds a B.A. in Theatre Arts from St. Lawrence University and a Master’s in Teaching from Fordham University. He has trained as a performer at the Actor’s Theatre of Louisville’s professional apprenticeship program, the Michael Chekhov Institute, as well as with Double Edge Theatre and the SITI Company.

Sullivan brings on board choreographer Jessica Galbo.

Galbo worked closely with the 2015 artistic team as assistant choreographer and rehearsal director. An American Ballet Theatre-certified instructor, Jessica Galbo continues to teach at Palm Arts Dance, although many know her from her recent role as Mountainfilm’s Director of Education Programs. Galbo was an HIV test counselor in San Francisco at the Haight-Ashbury Free Medical Clinic and has seen first-hand the effects of HIV/AIDS.

Sullivan and Galbo also happen to be the first brother-sister team at TAB! They look forward to working with executive director Michelle Maughan to produce an incredible show in 2016 with the goal of raising awareness and financial support for nonprofits from the Western Slope to the Front Range and Africa dealing with victims of  HIV/AIDS.

This ongoing epidemic is still spreading silently throughout our communities, but today, HIV/AIDS seems not to receive proper attention and funding due to the stigma that (sadly) still surrounds the disease – and the fact in our real-time world, it is yesterday’s headlines.

Galbo and Sullivan invite you to come out and audition for this year’s show. Male and female models of all ages, body types and talents are encouraged to audition.

Auditions will be held on Saturday January 9at the Palm Theater. There are two audition times: 11:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m. or 5:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Contact Jessica Galbo to schedule your audition: jessicagalbo@icloud.com
