MSP Films, the most highly decorated ski film company in the world, proudly introduces FADE TO WINTER, the latest in a long line of groundbreaking docs from the production powerhouse.

Following on the heels of the award-winning films MCCONKEY and DAYS OF MY YOUTH, MSP’s newest feature film highlights the top athletes of today and their unfaltering dedication to the sport of skiing. Even when faced with challenging weather and conditions, MSP’s all-star cast of skiers dug deep within themselves to find the best in each experience.

Fade to Winter features jaw-dropping action from Alaska, Iceland, British Columbia, Japan, Colorado, Italy, and New England, capturing the spirit of nine skiers who go to great lengths for the sport they love. During the filming, their team found itself touring the southwestern corner of Colorado to find cool and unique features with Bobby Brown and Alex Schlopy. Their journey first took them to the Telluride area and later to Silverton, exploring old mining ruins and bringing 21st century style to 19th-century terrain.

Telluride local, Brett Schreckengost was on location for some of the shoot:

“The MSP guys called me back in March after our one good snow storm of the season with a mission to find some backcountry features around the San Juans for Bobby Brown and Alex Schlopy to hit. We filmed around Telluride, Ophir, Ouray and Silverton, but the obvious choice and highlight of the week-long shoot was objective #1, The Alta Lakes trestle. I am pretty sure it was the biggest back country feature that either one of these guys had ever hit or they both went big… Alex’s dub back was absolutely massive.”

MSP’s 23rd annual ski film focuses on fun, because that is what skiing is all about, with first-timers and professionals alike sharing that mindset. Whether chasing deep powder in Japan, ripping with local groms in New England, searching for new lines in Alaska, or building backcountry jumps in Iceland, every aspect of this compelling new film showcases the inner spirit of every skier, all of whom share a burning desire to get out on the snow.

FADE TO WINTER is sponsored by Telluride’s BootDoctor’s Paragon Outdoors. which is offering audience members door prizes and free swag and a chance to win prizes and gear.
