Founded in 2003, the Pinhead Internship Program provides students with opportunities to gain practical skills and experience in various scientific fields of study, including (but not limited to) math, physics, conservation, chemistry, and biology.

Pinhead accomplishes its goal of enrichment education by placing regional students from Nucla, Norwood, Telluride, Ridgway and Ouray high schools at renowned scientific institutions for six-10 weeks. There, the young people work with leading researchers on critical issues facing the world today: biodiversity, indigenous cultures, influenza study, sustainability, habitat loss, and climate change.

Pinhead’s Internship Program is clearly a life-changing experience.
