Attention music and photography fans. You can learn the ins and outs as to what it’s like to be a Rock and Roll photographer with instructor Barry Brecheisen.
Spend the Blues & Brews weekend with someone who has been in the photo pit for almost 20 years and learn to capture the energy, mood, and action of the 2015 Telluride Blues & Brews Festival performers. Brecheisen will share some of his secrets and spend the weekend demonstrating real-world live photo applications first hand, while class participants shoot alongside him, up close and personal, in front of front row.
The weekend workshop includes a 3-day Festival pass, course instruction, and on-site access to the Festival photo pit and media tent. This is an amazing opportunity to experience the Telluride Blues & Brews Festival through the eyes of a lens, gain special Festival access with a camera, and learn while working alongside an experienced pro. The workshop runs over the Telluride Blues & Brews Festival weekend, September 18-20, and will include daily time in the photo pit, personal instruction, photo and style critique, and access to Festival grounds.
Instructing photographer Barry Brecheisen’s images appears regularly in every major magazine from Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly, People, US, Time to name a few. Known first and foremost as a Rock and Roll photographer, from 1998-2001, Barry was the original photo editor for RollingStone.com . Over his almost 2- year career, he has shot the legends like Ray Charles, Paul McCartney, Madonna, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Bruce Springsteen However, he has also shotcurrent mega-stars like Radiohead, Beyonce, Kanye West, Lady Gaga, Garth Brooks, Amy Winehouse, along with practically every famous rock star who has toured since the late ’90s. These days, Brecheisen is a highly in-demand independent freelancer working out of Chicago for PR companies, magazines, and wire services, which means he travels all over the country. This will be his 10th year as festival photographer for the Telluride Blues and Brews Festival.
Rock and Roll Photographer Weekend Workshop packages are $485.00 plus fees. Please note: students should have a basic working knowledge of their SLR digital cameras and manual mode will be encouraged, but not required. For the best shooting experience, two lenses are recommended: 24-70 mm and 70-200 mm and and a laptop with photo editing software is also preferred in assisting for next day critique.
