June 11 to 18, 2015 Visible planets: Morning: Mercury Evening: Venus, Jupiter, Saturn
Here we are, the middle of June, with summer solstice rapidly approaching. Yesterday it rained cats and dogs, water everywhere. A little natural-flow pond appeared in our yard around our healthiest aspen tree, voila! Hail pelted the beautiful spinach and lettuce in our cool-weather-crop vegetable garden, but the basil on the east side of the greenhouse came through unharmed. Fortunately, most of my tomatoes and all the peppers were under cover, so they survived unscathed. Everything else seemed to enjoy the flurry.
And I love the moisture, I really do. Living in the desert southwest, albeit on a high mountain mesa, rain and snow are magical and precious commodities.
Of course, these days we all talk and hear about climate change and global warming, disappearing flora and fauna. Severe weather seems the norm. Drought and deluge, burning hots and bone-chilling cold. I have to admit this last winter was unusual. January and February felt like April and May, April and May felt like February and March. There was a noticeable lack of bald eagles wintering here last winter, and this spring the bluebirds are fewer and farther between. It makes me wonder what’s going on, and I feel a loss, a sense of sorrow. Is it fear?
I know in my heart, it’s all a bigger picture. The evolutionary effect of human life upon planet Earth is a powerful logarhythmic force, way beyond my control. I have to accept it. It is what it is. That’s not to say I’m unaware of my personal carbon footprint, or everyone else’s. I am. And that’s one of the reasons I have gotten into growing as much organic food as I can.
The June New Moon takes place in Gemini on June 16th @ 8:05 am MDT and initiates another lunar month. Mercury goes direct on June 11th at 04°35’ Gemini while Neptune turns retrograde on June 12th at 09°49’ Pisces. Both Saturn [in Scorpio] and Pluto [in Capricorn] are also retrograde, while Mars [Gemini], Venus [Leo] and Jupiter [Leo] are moving direct. This translates as a package of stop and go, start and finish, old and new. In general, it’s a great time to get going and put effort into either starting or finishing whatever you want to start or finish, take inventory of your spiritual condition and seriously address your physical and material goals. This is an excellent time to go deep, come up with plans and strategies for achievement and work on manifestation, one day and project at a time. And, with Venus and Jupiter now direct in Leo, to truly feel the power of love in your heart and follow the love. Express and live in love, create and live life to its fullest. Good luck!
Aries (Mar. 20-Apr. 19) Mercury goes stationery direct on June 11th and says goodbye to a three-week period of relative stasis, something action-loving Aries do not enjoy. Moving forward is what you live for, but rushing past what needs attention creates bigger problems in the long run. With Neptune going retrograde in Pisces June 12th, it’s a good time to refocus attention on your spiritual condition. Do the work, reap the rewards.
Taurus (Apr. 19-May 20) A planetary combination of stop and go, start, finish and begin again continues as Mercury goes direct but several other planets move retrograde. A relationship issue you thought had been taken care of may return for another go-round, a partner may need extra time and attention or you realize that some people and situations aren’t worthy of your time. Seek out wise friends for counsel and stay true to your values.
Gemini (May 20-June 20) Saturn moves retrograde from Sagittarius into Scorpio this week, encouraging another look at personal programs of self-improvement. Health is wealth and you know it. Why then, do you avoid the challenges of commitment when it comes to losing or gaining weight, eating right and maintaining a daily spiritual practice? Good news is you may be finally ready and willing to commit. One day at a time.
Cancer (June 20-July 22) A fresh new Moon in late degree Gemini falls in near the cusp of your 12th and 1st houses of your solar chart. This translates as a fortuitous time for wrapping up whatever needs closure or completion, picking yourself up and starting fresh wherever personal wants and needs are concerned. Know thyself is the magic mantra here. Tap into your higher self and soar above your life. What do you see?
Leo (July 22-Aug. 22) The Sun and Moon conjunct hot, metallic Mars in quicksilver Gemini feels like full speed ahead, but hey, not so fast! This new Moon sets the stage for the upcoming month, so it’s wise to take your time and look before you leap. Taking place in your solar 11th house of inspirational goals and heartfelt wishes, consider what you truly value and aspire to. Plant seeds of intention in the fertile cosmic soil of our ever-expanding Universe.
Virgo (Aug. 22-Sep. 22) This week’s late degree Gemini new Moon falls in the latter portion or your solar 10th house of career, achievement and ambition. This placement offers up a rather rich and bountiful basket of professional and social choices and possibilities, a veritable smorgasbord of options. Consider what is most important to you personally; does your work support your values? Start a project, enhance your image.
Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 22) Motivator Mars conjunct this week’s Gemini new Moon jumpstarts and awakens some of those sleeping ambitions and higher callings regarding your life purpose and spiritual path. You may have recently felt out-of-synch or lost in a sea of internal dialogs that caused static and preempted peace, going through the motions but feeling inauthentic. You may have been stuck, but now it’s time for traction.
Scorpio (Oct. 22-Nov. 21) Master Teacher Saturn retrogrades into Scorpio this week, adding a touch of déjà vu to the colors and flavors of your days and weeks. Meanwhile, another lunar month begins with the June16th Gemini New Moon, providing you with a platform upon which to launch your most cherished, close-to-the-heart dreams and desires. Go deep and discover the secret, hidden treasure of what you truly love.
Sagittarius (Nov. 21-Dec. 20) Another fortuitous opportunity to utilize the power of intention and desire comes in the shape of a fresh new Moon this week. Taking place in your solar 7th house of long-term relationships and commitments, planetary energies favor activities and communications with existing or potential partners, mates and significant others. Focus on one-to-one encounters and quality rather than quantity. Share and pair.
Capricorn (Dec. 20-Jan. 19) Health and fitness are themes in the upcoming weeks for the Mountain Goat as this week’s new Moon favors the initiation of any and all programs of self-betterment and self-improvement. Getting in shape and staying in shape are important ingredients in the recipe of a happy life. Take a good look at what you put in your mouth, how much you walk and whether or not you spend time in silence.
Aquarius (Jan. 19-Feb. 18) Personal creative juices flow fast and strong as the Sun and Moon come together in your solar 5th house of the heart. Whether it’s romance or finance, you may find yourself busy at work doing something you love. Happiness is often a choice and you are fortunate to be making good ones. Stay active and keep busy, but be sure to include some relaxation and recreation in your week. Life on Earth is a magical gift, enjoy it.
Pisces (Feb. 18-Mar. 20) Planetary ruler Neptune goes retrograde in early Pisces on June 12th and is followed by Saturn’s entrance into Scorpio a few days later. Then comes the mutable sign New Moon in Gemini, setting the stage for another go round regarding personally important projects and relationships. Take a good look at your immediate environment and relationships. Identify what you want to improve and go forth.
