22 Feb San Juan Mountains Weather Forecast ~ 1/22/15
Snow has begun early this morning in the southern San Juans… The trough I’ve been describing being carved out across the desert southwest is deforming back to the west drawing in warm Pacific moisture feeding the snow machine for today. Tropical moisture near Baja is joining the show later today as it’s drawn into the mix and merges with the jet stream near the 4-Corners late evening. All of this leads me to believe several feet or more snow for the higher elevations of the western and southern San Juans! This storm will begin to lose it energy by Monday afternoon.
