12 Sep Friends of the Library: Book Sale This Weekend
What happens when the curtain closes on Telluride Blues & Brews?
Yes, lots of folks high tail it out of town. But if you are the part of the crowd that hangs around to watch the colors changing, the next big event could be something truly exotic (and stimulating) – curling up in a comfortable chair with a good book, courtesy of the Friends of the Library. Its annual book sale takes place Friday, September 19 – Saturday, September 20.
“We have so many great donations & library discards this year that we’re setting up under the tent on the east terrace (fiction) in addition to the Program Room (nonfiction). We’ll have lots of books for kids, also books in Spanish, audio books, music CDs & DVDs, all at the best prices this side of the Free Box,” says FOL president Nancy Landau.
Nancy recommends getting a jump on the action by rejoining FOL at the sale (or pre-sale).
“You’ll get 5 books free, & your membership will be extended through 2015, so you’ll be set to enjoy another year of great discounts provided by our 26 local business partners. Got Clark’s Market Cash Savers? We’ll happily collect any you have to donate (or you can drop them at the library any time),” Nancy continues.
New this year: Red Bag Sale. During the last two hours on Saturday (4-6 p.m.), while FOL is breaking down the sale on Sunday, buy a red “Came to Ski, Stayed for the Library” bag for $1 and fill it with books for $9.
