12 May SPARKy Productions: Telluride Playwright Fest & Lawn Chair Movie Nite
SPARKy Productions is gearing up for its 10th year of organizing the summer program of the Telluride Playwrights Festival. An exciting week of two new staged play readings, a one-man show and improv night are all planned during the week of July 21 – 27,2014.
The Playwrights Festival brings working playwrights, actors and directors to town to workshop new plays. This year a comedy, “TONIGHT AT NOON”by Jeff Tabnick, and a political thriller, “AYN & HER SISTER” by Jennie Franks are the two featured productions.
“TONIGHT AT NOON” is a zany comedy about the angst of four 30-year-olds.
“AYN & HER SISTER” tell of a visit by Ayn Rand’s Russian sister to New York in the 1970s.
In addition, Daniel Glen will be performing his one-man show…..
Returning actors include Playwright favorites Richard Cowden and Lori Gardner.

In addition to the Playwrights festival, SPARKy is collaborating with the Wilkinson Library and the Mountain Village Conference Center to screen four open-air movies in the LAWN CHAIR MOVIE NIGHT series, which takes place the last four Tuesdays in the month of July Four fun free movies for all the family to enjoy rain or shine!

July 15- Fantasia (1940, Leopold Stokowski, Deems Taylor)
July 22- Jaws (1975, Roy Scheider,Richard Dreyfuss)
July 29- Mamma Mia! (2008, Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan)
Lawn Chair Movie night is presented at 8:30 pm at the Conference Center Plaza in the Mountain Village. Guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs!
