ALACAZEM 2014.05.08

May 8 to 15, 2014  Visible Planets:Morning: Venus Evening: Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn

BULLIt’s springtime in the Rockies. Mud and snow, sleet, rain and hail. Magnificent sunshine, peek-a-boo light and budding trees. Brave tulips and yellow daffodils pop up out of heavy mulch as cerulean bluebirds stand out against the slowly greening landscape. Afternoon winds chill the air above fast-running irrigation ditches as infant lambs and baby calves stay close to their mother’s warm bodies and sweet, nourishing milk. New life is emerging everywhere. Our annual growing season has taken root.

SCORPIONAnd this week, as the earth changes with the season’s emerging, growing new life, the Moon waxes toward full. We feel the pull of this ancient lunar deity – the mystical, feminine goddess of reflected light and receptive love – directing us inward, connecting us to our inner world of emotion and feeling [Scorpio]. On the outside, the powerful, primal force of the Sun – masculine god of life and light – arouses our senses and encourages us to touch, taste, see, hear and smell [Taurus]. It’s a balance of yin and yang, inner and outer. Fruition takes place on May 14th at 1:16 p.m. MDT @ 23º 55” Scorpio.

This lunation is perennially one of the most lusty and seductive full Moons of the year. The Taurus/Scorpio polarity plays out the balancing act, and coming together of our physical and emotional desires. It is where we not only want, but want deeply. Cravings for food, intimacy, emotional and physical security, sexual and creature comforts are themes. Take your time, enjoy the weather and touch the Mother Earth.

Aries (Mar. 20-Apr.19) The May full Moon has been dubbed “the sexiest Moon of the year” by many astrologers, but it might also be portrayed as the most powerfully seductive – emotionally and physically – lunation of the zodiac. It is here we see what we most require [Taurus] and what we most desire, and fear [Scorpio]. Face your fears and trust that you can endure. Thy will be done.

Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20) The balancing lunation of the recent Taurus new Moon solar eclipse takes place on May 14th @1:15 pm MDT. This heralds a powerful peak of physical and emotional fruition for the Bull. Take a good look at your life, self and relationships. Who and what do you value? Can you discern light from darkness, understanding both are necessary? Keep the peace, stay the course.

Gemini (May 21-June 21) Wanting what we have [vs. wanting what we don’t have] is a golden key to happiness. Improving what we have is therapeutic; it gives birth to health, wealth, satisfaction and success. Examine how you may be scattering your personal energy and resources. Find quiet space and time to carve out a plan for conservation and focus. Then execute it, one day and moment at a time.

Cancer (June 21-July 22) With mental Mercury now transiting your solar 12th house of soul and spirit, you may find yourself thinking about life and death, those who have passed on, and the possibilities of energetic existence and/or experience on the other side. Meanwhile, friends, fellowships and shared common interests fuel fires of inspiration. Light the fire and fan the flame.

Leo (July 23-Aug.22) The Taurus zodiac month is traditionally one of achievement and recognition for the Lion. You may feel in the limelight or centerstage when it comes to others. Somehow, against all odds, things are working out. Rather than celebrate and blow the bank, take it slow and easy. Do the math, balance the equations. Patience is an art of virtue, practice the art.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22) Moving and grooving, hustle and bustle can be an escape and distraction, a way to avoid responsibilities, block out doubt and cultivate denial. This week, however, lunar light illuminates the nooks and crannies of hidden fear, awakening awareness and motivating courageous action. Isn’t it time to take care of what you need to take care of? Yes, step-by-step, day-by-day.

Libra (Sep. 23-Oct. 22) You may feel slightly disconnected or at odds this week as the Moon grows full in the fixed Taurus-Scorpio polarity. With so much personal responsibility, chores and work-related concerns, it may be difficult to refrain from stress and distress. Take a deep breath and exhale, letting it go. Do it again, and again. How do you create your own suffering? Let it go.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) The May 14th Taurus-Scorpio full Moon marks a powerful yearly point of balance, and ultimate completion, for the Scorpion. This is where and when we can clearly see the light and darkness of out lives, selves and relationships, face our fears and accept responsibility for our actions. You are a tremendously courageous warrior. Open you heart, do the next right thing.

Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 20) Going from place to place, space to space, here, there and everywhere can get tiring, exhausting physical energy and sacrificing spiritual wellness. Resource management is where it’s at now. You must get serious about action and consequence, overall balance and karma. Meditation, rest and relaxation are imperative for health. Take it easy, breathe, relax and sleep.

Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19) The Slow Food movement began in 1989 with the intention of counteracting the harmful physical, social and environmental effects and consequences of fast food. Today, you can celebrate organic growers and living, support sustainability and local farmer’s markets. Put your money where your heart is, practice pro-active living and cultivate healing via grace.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18) The fixed modality of the Taurus-Scorpio full Moon lunation strikes a chord in the heartstrings of your heart; the music is powerfully motivating and exceptionally strong. Challenges and opportunities abound now; you are busy from dawn ‘til dusk. The good news is that your burden is only as great as your strength. When day is done, make good sleep a priority.

Pisces (Feb. 19-Mar. 20) Taurus seeks self-sufficiency and stability; its shadow is materialism and complacency. Scorpio seeks intimacy and transformation; its shadow is deception and domination. Finding a positive balance between archetypal light and darkness, yin and yang is a theme now. You may need to go deep, but don’t drown. Stay grounded in practical, realistic solutions.
