In the run up to Telluride’s jam-packed summer season,
• Family Field Day Trip – Museum of the Mountain West
Saturday, May 17 9:00am – 3:30pm $10/$5 for kids 6-15
Bring the kids for this exciting glimpse into 19th century Colorado at the
Museum of the Mountain West in Montrose. Enjoy a guided tour through
an extensive collection of artifacts and buildings, including a railroad
depot, granary, church, log cabin, blacksmith shop and more! Meet at theTelluride Museum. Transportation is by carpool. Please bring a lunch.
• Museum Re-Opens for Summer Season!
Thursday, May 22 11am-5pm Mon.-Sat., Sun. 1pm-5pm
Come see what the Museum has been up to this off season! Step
back into Telluride’s past with hands-on exhibits, fascinating artifacts,
and new displays. Thursdays are Local’s Day: we’re open until 7pm
and locals get in FREE!
• Art From the Archives: Brittany Miller
Wednesday, May 28 7:00pm – 8:30pm FREE
The first of a series of five conversations on art, life and
inspiration hosted by favorite local artists. Each month one
artist pulls something from the Museum archives and
opens up a discussion of their choosing. Join us as artists
dust off the mystery behind these beloved pieces.
FREE Swing Dance Lessons!
Join locals Laura Colbert and Lance Waring for two FREE laid back beginner swing dance classes. On Tuesday, May 27 and Tuesday, June 3, 6:00pm-7:30pm at the Sheridan Opera House, you can pick up some new moves just in time for the Telluride Historical Museum’s “Swingin’ at the Sheridan” swing dance on June 6.
“Swingin’ at the Sheridan” is in celebration of the Telluride Historical Museum’s June 5 exhibit opening, “Voices of Wartime: Telluride during WWII,” and marks the 70th anniversary of the Allied invasion of Europe.
