16 Mar San Juan Mountains Weather: Big Winds, Maybe Some Snow
A near perfect Sunday. Warm, cloudless and calm, but all to end rapidly tomorrow with a120 knot jet on SW flow entering our area with big wind, another cold front and a little snow for the high country. Models mixed on when, where and how much, but looks to me like the central and northern mountains might see 2-4″ of snow above TL starting by mid/late day tomorrow.
In the San Juans, put your lawn chairs away tonight. Late morning through Monday evening savage winds will push the cold front through, but with little snow. As this trough moves east on Tuesday NW flow keeps day-time temperatures on the cool side with gradually increasing temps through the week as westerly flow prevails through next weekend.
