21 Jan Twenty(by)Telluride: SAF Young People’s Theater Edition
Telluride Arts’ Twenty(by)Telluride is a lively, casual event that offers an intimate glimpse into some of Telluride’s most creative minds through very fast-paced slide presentations. Each presenter has exactly 20 slides and each slide is shown for exactly 20 seconds, challenging everyone to be precise. The whole event takes place in less than one hour and is really fun and interesting.
In 2014, Twenty(by)Telluride will profile the creative people involved with some of the great local institutions that make Telluride a thriving, world-class Arts District. The first of these collaborations is with the Sheridan Arts Foundation Young People’s Theater celebrating its 15th anniversary this winter. Presenters include YPT’s Artistic Director and founder Jennifer Julia, musical director Bob Israel, sound designer Rob Wagner, choreographer and former YPT alum Lyndia Peralta and YPT alum Amy Palamar. The FREE event takes place January 28, 7 – 8 p.m. at the historic Sheridan bar.
Twenty(by)Telluride was the brainchild of Telluride Arts’ executive director Kate Jones, who was inspired in part by TED.
The now iconic TED conference is a nonprofit devoted to “Ideas Worth Spreading.” It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design.
Locally, Twenty(By)Telluride challenges presenters to share what makes them tick—their inspiration, their creative process, their muse(s).
Once again, here’s the math:
20 slides
+ 20 seconds each
÷ a theme
x a few great minds
= Twenty(by)Telluride
