Telluride Arts: Small Grants Apps Now!

Telluride Arts: Small Grants Apps Now!

Tride Arts general sliderTelluride Arts now accepting applications for Small Grants program. Deadline is Friday, February 28.

Small grants support art at its source, the artists who create the paintings and sculptures, plays and dances, music, films and novels that enrich our lives. The grant program is a unique funding source that supports artists in the Telluride region at all stages of their careers. Funds are provided by CCAASE and administered by Telluride Arts.

Small grants support the innovation, creativity, and professional development of individual artists living in the Telluride region. The small grants program provides funding for artists working in the visual, media, performing and literary arts. Artist projects may include (but are not limited to) the development, completion or presentation of new work; and professional development. Artists are required to share work with the public through a performance, publication, exhibit, screening, or a simple written or photo documentation of the project, in print or online, in order to help disseminate the value of the arts and artists to our communities. Telluride Arts will support this process through marketing and coordination where needed.

New in 2014: Artist-to-Artist Shops

Artist-to-Artist Workshops is a new opportunity for artists as part of the Small Grants program. It is responding to a need that artists expressed during the Arts District planning. The goal is to help artists develop professional skills and expertise that advances their work. Artists are invited to submit a small grant proposal for up to $300 to provide a free workshop for their fellow artists. All mediums will be considered. Local partner venues, including the Ah Haa School for the Arts, Melange, the Sheridan Opera House, and others, will host workshops for free when space is available.

The deadline to apply is February 28, 2014.
