Good grief!
Join a cast of beloved characters: Charlie Brown, Lucy, Snoopy, Linus, Sally, and a gallery of Peanut friends for one of the funniest, sweetest musicals of all time.
The Sheridan Arts Foundation’s Young People’s Theater kicks off its 15th season with “You’re a Good Man,” a series of comical vignettes based on the popular “Peanuts” comic strip created by Charles Schultz.
“The show is recognizably ‘Peanuts,’ but of course we’ve put a YPT twist on it,” said Jennifer Julia, Artistic Director, Sheridan Arts Foundation’s Young People’s Theatre.“Our amazing 6th grade students play the chorus who tell visual stories illustrating the play’s major theme, which is childhood. Their part of the show adds depth to the cheeky, cartoonish style of the play, it’s very inventive and original.”
The play stars 30 local thespians from grades 6, 7 and 8. Julia is joined by music director Bob Callendale Israel, choreographer and YPT alum Lyndia Peralta, and set designer Amy Barber.
“One of the best parts of this show is the dynamic score,” added Julia. “’Book Report’ is one of my favorite show tunes of all time. And everyone loves ‘Baseball Game.’ Charlie Brown’s failure is funny but heartbreaking.”
“You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown” plays Friday December 6, through Sunday December 8 at 6 p.m.
Tickets are $13 for adults; $11 for kids 12 and under. Lap kids are free. Tickets are for reserved seating, and are available on the Sheridan Opera House website.
