13 Dec “Dude & Bro’s A Christmas Carol”
Telluride Theatre & The Sheridan Arts Foundation present a non-denominational holiday extravaganza, December 18 -22, 2013, 8 p.m. live at the Sheridan Opera House
Dude and Bro are BACK in a totally new play adapted straight from Charles Dicken’s classic, “A Christmas Carol.”
Telluride’s most lovable ski bums are not so lovable in the original play “Dude & Bro’s A Christmas Carol,” written and directed by Telluride Theatre‘s Sasha Sullivan, with original music by Ethan Hale. The curtain goes up at the historic Sheridan Opera House Wednesday, Dec. 18-Sunday, December 22, 2013. “Dude & Bro’s A Christmas Carol,” is co-produced by Telluride Theatre and the Sheridan Arts Foundation.
“We are so excited to partner with the Sheridan Arts Foundation to bring awesome theatrical entertainment to town this holiday season,” said Sasha.“We created the characters Dude and Bro five years ago and they have become town favorites, appearing in two plays and various other performances. People kept asking when they were coming back and I thought this would be a great opportunity to bring them to the stage again.”
What happens when these two beloved characters break the Bro-code and go all Humbug on the holidays? In this strictly Telluride version of the original blockbuster, we follow the two dirtbags through the past, present, and future to see what Telluride’s holidays are all about.
“I love the timeless classic and I have always thought of re-imagining the story in a Telluride setting,” Sasha continued. “Our version is wacky and wild featuring Dude, Bro and a lot of familiar faces, characters and Telluride traditions.”
Fun for the whole family, “Dude & Bro’s A Christmas Carol” is rated PG-13. With original music, crazy characters, a wildly talented cast of actors and tons of laughs this is a play not to be missed. Featuring: Dylan Brooks, Sam Burgess, Luigi Chiarani, Taylor Clay, Laura Colbert, Cat Lee Covert, Elissa Dickson, Danielle Jenkins, Caroline Grace Moore, Dahlia Mertens, Michael Mowery, Colin Sullivan, Molly Wickwire-Sante, Pamela Sante
Telluride Theatre and the Sheridan Arts Foundation are both committed to providing quality entertainment to the Telluride region and decided to partner after Dude & Bro’s original run at the SOH was such a huge success.
“We are thrilled to present this play with Telluride Theatre,” said Kathrine Warren the SAF’s PR/marketing director. “We strive to produce quality holiday entertainment each December and this inventive spin on the classic Christmas story will continue that SAF tradition.”
Tickets are $10 on local’s night, Wednesday, Dec. 18; $15 for adults and $12 for students Dec. 19-22.
“Dude & Bro’s A Christmas Carol” will play at 8 p.m. each night Wednesday-Saturday and close out with a 4 p.m. matinee on Sunday.
