Looked outside lately? There’s snow in the high country (yippee!!) and at times, on the ground. T-shirt weather is definitely over – at least as far as anyone can say anything definite about the weather. But before offseason and then winter is hard upon us, the Telluride Gallery of Fine Art is hosting one last hoorah. It’s Sasha’s 4th Annual Fashion Show. The event featuring “Chemicals by Sasha” and music by DJ Chilango Ficante takes place at the gallery on Friday, October 18, 6 – 7 p.m.
The Gallery’s winter season kickoff event takes place just before Thanksgiving, Tuesday, November 26, 5-8, the ever popular Altered Album Covers show. The idea for all you burgeoning artists is to find an original LP cover and enhance it with your original art (without changing the size, 12 X 12 inches).
The following are the ground rules for entry:
- Again, this is an open show, a repeat of last year’s popular theme
- May be representative or not representative of your signature style.
- Record will be removed and all work will be hung in a grid on the gallery walls.
- One set price of $50 (sale is split between gallery and artist)
- Do NOT alter back in any way for hanging. (You can choose to sign on the back or front.)
- Print a 3×3 inch image of the cover BEFORE any alteration is made. Include this print with your album submission.
- Show opening reception: Tuesday, November 26 5 – 8 p.m.
- Commitment by Saturday, November 16 – or as soon as you are ready
- Drop off finished artwork at gallery Friday, November 22
- Pick up unsold work on December 2
