September 19 to 26, 2013   Visible Planets: Morning: Mars, Jupiter    Evening: Mercury, Venus, Saturn

HarvestMoon_logo_smThe Harvest Moon and autumn equinox – two of my favorite celestial events of the year. And in 2013, both take place within days of each other. Wow!

I have been feeling the intensity of the cosmos lately. Last night I had wild dreams. One of my best friends – Miss Mona – has difficulty sleeping when the Moon grows full. Right now, she’s probably tossing and turning in her bed down in Baja, counting Mexican sheep.

grapesYesterday I rode to the West End with another compadre and we discussed the energies of these wild, crazy times – the wars and shams of political power and personalities, computer-generated virtual realities, the hustle-bustle busy-ness of the ethers and the metaphorical taxes we pay on the privilege to be here on Earth, right here, right now, living in the luxurious lands of America. Amidst the actual and virtual realities we both agreed that we are incredibly, magically, mysteriously blessed. She said, “Look where we live. The magnificent clouds, the brilliant skies. And, how about all the rainbows we’ve had lately?”

In-the-Heat-of-Harvest-690x611Yes, we are blessed. And, this week, we shall count our blessings. The season of summer is ending. The season of harvest is here. And the metaphysically rich season of autumn arrives on Sept. 22nd @ 2:44 pm MDT, when the Sun enters the tropical zodiac sign Libra. The hours of dark and light are equal on this day, the Sun rises and sets directly east and west. It is a day of equilibrium, a day to take pause, a day to look for the crack between the worlds. Good luck and may the blessings, beauty and bounty of harvest fill your heart with gratitude and your life with grace.

Aries (Mar. 20-Apr.19) Both the Harvest Moon and autumn equinox take place this week, marking the days ahead as some of the most poignant and powerful of the year. Situations, which have been bubbling for months, come to a head; the fruit has ripened on the vine. Humility, self-responsibility and deep compassion are allies now. Look within, cultivate virtue and do your best.

Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20) Equilibrium is a word that describes the energy of an equinox. Day and night are equal, the Sun and Moon rise and set directly east and west. This year, however, the test in is the balance. Climate change, political upheaval, personal challenge and relationship restructure can feel like a recipe for instability. Calm the engines and cultivate inner peace. No feeling is final.

Gemini (May 21-June 21) The full Harvest Moon brings issues of personal and professional life to a head. You may be feeling overtaxed, overworked and overwhelmed by all you have to do. Somehow you have gotten yourself deeply involved and committed to projects involving others when you already have too many irons in the fire. Breathe deep and seek help in spirit. The angels are waiting.

Cancer (June 21-July 22) A Venus/Saturn conjunction in seductive Scorpio – your solar 5th house of love and creativity – opens your heart to the deep mystery and beauty of life. The magnificent potential of our short time here on Earth is phenomenal. Tap into all you are, align with the infinite possibilities of the universe and ride the cosmic waves of happy destiny. Keep the faith.

Leo (July 23-Aug.22) A planetary square from sweet Venus and serious Saturn in Scorpio adjusts perspectives and combines affection with caution in matters of the love and money. Take a good look at your personal part in both romantic and business relationships. If you feel resentment, jealousy or pain, do what you can to change the things you can – you!

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22) The readiness to let go of old patterns and personally fabricated limitations peaks as full Moon energy amplifies a Venus, Saturn, North Node conjunction in persuasive Scorpio. Several years of process regarding soul and psyche are coming to fruition. You feel and see the transformational changes in and all around you. Trust, let go and let God.

Libra (Sep. 23-Oct. 22) This year, harvest moonlight illuminates matters of soul and spirit, the relationship between dark and light, and your personal part in maintaining the physical, emotional, psychological balance that manifests inner peace. Combine realism with affection when it comes to progress. We learn everything by practice. Cultivate ritual, ceremony and prayer.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) The autumnal equinox signals a time of growing darkness and inner development. As days shorten, we instinctively go inward. Spirits rise and dance in the illuminating rays of a full Harvest Moon. Voluptuous Venus and Master Teacher Saturn show you the way to a life of rewarding relationships and successful careers. Commitment, sweet affection and patience are allies.

Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 20)

The energetic gateway to one of the year’s two equinoctial points opens this week as autumn equinox follows on the heels of the full Harvest Moon. Day and night, darkness and light, spirit and matter – polarities and relationships take center stage. This week initiates a time of internal process and metamorphosis. Tap into the cosmos. Dance in the moonlight.

Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19) The mutual reception of Saturn and Pluto in Scorpio and Capricorn intensifies as these two heavyweights form the third of three sextiles following the fruition of the full Harvest Moon. This translates as a touchstone for soul and psyche. Go deep, feel feelings, ride the wave of metamorphic transformation. Love and compassion are keys. Be sweet.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18) September 22nd marks the second equinox of 2013 and stands as a door to transformative change. By taking full responsibility for the condition of your life and relationships, you have embraced your personal power and manifested personal freedom. Amidst the chaos and ridiculous political charades, you walk in beauty. Congratulations, your time is now.

Pisces (Feb. 19-Mar. 20) Open the door on a week of great metaphysical opportunity and potential. The full Harvest Moon in Virgo/Pisces, several planetary conjunctions and sextiles, followed by autumn equinox, combine in a dance of personal illumination and ascension. Take the high road on your journey through the stars. The perspective is better and the air is clean.
