19 Aug Telluride Film Festival: Nugget Theatre Goes Digital
Just in time for the 40th Anniversary of the Telluride Film Festival, the Nugget Theatre (now operated year-round by the Festival), will undergo a digital cinema conversion that will enable filmgoers to enjoy the latest, most state-of-the-art films in a crisp, high quality resolution.
Theatres across the country are transferring to digital cinema projection as new films from all major studios will be released in this format by the end of 2013.
To complete the conversion, the Nugget Theatre will be closed for just two days – on Wednesday, August 21 and Thursday, August 22.
On August 20th, in its last night of 35 mm, there will be two screenings: GROWN UPS 2 (2013, 101 min., Rated PG-13) with Adam Sandler and Chris Rock at 5:30 p.m., followed by DESPICABLE ME 2 (2013, 98 min, Rated PG) at 8 p.m.
SHOWS will resume Friday, August 23 with THE CONJURING (2013, 112 minutes, Rated R). Directed by James Wan.
On August 25, the Nugget will close to prepare for the 40th Telluride Film Festival, running Thursday, August 29 – Monday, September 2, 2013.
