In couple-speak, that means a ruby. Or a bouquet of Nasturtiums, the official flower of that anniversary.

Speaking of anniversaries….

Seen as the progenitors of Chicano rock ‘n’ roll, the first band that had the boldness, and some might even say the naiveté, to fuse punk rock with Mexican folk tunes, this year, Los Lobos celebrates 40 years .

And while we are on the subject of music, 2013 marks the 40th anniversary of the Telluride Bluegrass Festival.

“We’re holding back the announcement of several major additional Telluride artists in order to allow as many locals, Festivarians, and long-time supporters of the festival to purchase the few remaining Thursday and Sunday single-day tickets,” said Bryan Eyster, marketing director, Planet Bluegrass.
