06 Dec JINGLE JAM IN MOUNTAIN VILLAGE STARTS SUNDAY
Realize Planning, Telluride Sitters, Telluride Mountain Village Owners Association and Mountain Village Merchants teamed up to make Jingle Jam 2012 the best ever. And Mountain Village is all dressed up for the occasion in holiday garlands, bells, ornaments, and lights galore.
To launch Jingle Jam, on Sunday, December 9, there are big plans to adorn the spruce in Heritage Plaza with all the appropriate tree trimmings.
The annual Tree Lighting Ceremony takes place Friday, December 14, 5:15 p.m., Mountain Village Heritage Plaza. The event includes Santa and his elves, kid’s crafts: making of ornaments to add to the tree, face painting, Christmas music, guess how many candy canes, free ice skating, hot chocolate and special holiday deals at participating Mountain Village venues all day.
For more information , read on:
Free Ice Skating & Hot Chocolate, 12 p.m.– 8 p.m.
BootDoctors, operators of the Mountain Village Ice Rink, gives the community an early holiday gift: free skating during Jingle Jam. No skates? Rentals are available. Telluride Truffles, from its new location in Mountain Village offers free hot chocolate.
Holiday Crafts for Kids (while supplies last), 3:30 p.m.– 6:00 p.m.
As they wait to tell Santa what they want this year for Christmas, kids of all ages also have the chance to be creative. They can decorate their very own Christmas tree ornament to add to the tree in Heritage Plaza. Other crafts as well, such as face painting, all the fun provided by Telluride Sitters.
Holiday Music, 3:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Classic holiday songs, the ones we all know so well and sing along to – Jingle Bells, Joy to the World, Silent Night – will be echoing throughout Mountain Village’s plazas.
Sitting with Santa, 3:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Kids of all ages can say hello to Santa, tell him what they want for Christmas, and have a picture taken with The Man, too. This year, their parents will be behind the camera. And we encourage everyone to upload their best shots to the Mountain Village Merchants Facebook page.
Tree Lighting Ceremony, 5:15 p.m.
Santa lights up the Spruce tree in Heritage Plaza at 5:15 p.m. – with the help of his elves and the kids of course.
