25 Nov SPROUTS FUNDRAISER SATURDAY: WINTER CHILL
It’s all about chilling out for a good cause: our kiddos.
Celebrate the coming winter, Saturday, December 1, 6– 11 p.m. at the Elks with the Sprouts Winter Chill. The event is a benefit for Mountain Sprouts Preschool.
Winter Chill features one of Telluride’s favorite local bands, Funkdafari, plus a silent auction with incredible items from all over the community. Think gifts for your family, friends and yourself: hotel, restaurant and spa deals, fine art, festival passes, clothing, and much more. Food is provided and there’s a cash bar.
All proceeds go to support Mountain Sprouts Preschool, an institution which offers a blend of Waldorf and Montessori teaching philosophies. The lead teacher, Cathy Barber, places an emphasis on creative, hands-on, individualized educational experiences, focusing on peace education. The environment is holistic, natural, nurturing, and, as the organization’s mission statement states: “conducive to learning with reverence and respect for all living things in our world.”
For free babysitting, parents who have bought a ticket need to reserve a space by calling 970-729-1657. Babysitting is available from 6 – 9:30 p.m.
Applications for new students are currently being accepted. For information, contact Cathy at 728-8004.
Tickets for Winter Chill, $20 in advance and $25 at the door, can be obtained by calling 708-4995.
