26 Aug USA PRO CYCLING CHALLENGE: LEIPHEIMER IN YELLOW JERSEY
Rory Sutherland (United Healthcare), an Australian who now calls Boulder home, surged up Flagstaff Mountain for the Stage 6 win on Saturday. Clearly Sutherland is at home in his adopted home town.
With five different stage winners in six legs, the leader jersey has passed again, with last year’s overall winner Levi Leipheimer now wearing the Yellow Jersey. Christian Vande Velde is in second place 9 seconds back with Tejay van Garderen and Best Young Rider Dombrowski following at -21 seconds.
Tom Danielson turned over the King of the Mountain jersey to Jens Voigt, and Tyler Farrar holds an 8 point lead over Damiano Caruso for the Sprinter title.
Sunday’s time trials should prove very interesting.
