Twenty(by)Telluride is a fun and creative gathering produced by Telluride Arts and held throughout the year at venues around town and in Mountain Village.

Twenty(by)Telluride is designed to showcase the innovation, knowledge and ideas of members of our community through very short, fast-paced presentations: speakers are asked to adhere to a strict format of 20 slides, with 20 seconds per slide.

Twenty(by)Telluride returns with its usual flourish.  The event takes place Monday, August 13, 7:30-p.m. at the historic Sheridan bar in the New Sheridan Hotel.

Twenty(by)Telluride is based on PechaKucka Night and TED.

Drawing its name from the Japanese term for the sound of conversation (“chit chat”), PechaKucka rests on a presentation format that is based on a simple idea: 20 images x 20 seconds. TED is a nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design.

Why an event like Twenty(By)Telluride? Telluride Arts felt such an event fills a big need. In most cities and towns, Telluride included, public spaces where people can show and share their work in a relaxed manner are few and far between. Locally, Twenty(By)Telluride becomes a perfect platform for creative types to show and share the ideas and work of a cross section of artists, writers, filmmakers, architects and more who make their homes in and around our box canyon resort – or, with this event – are just dropping by for a visit.
