August 30 to September 6, 2012 Visible Planets: Morning: Mercury, Venus and Jupiter Evening: Mars and Saturn
September! Wow. August flew by like a jet on its way to LA, reflecting the light of the Sun, shiny against the deep blue Colorado sky, moving fast.
I know that time is an illusion, that we can only mark it by cycles and seasons, the phases of the Moon, falling leaves, changing temperatures, decreasing and increasing light. With time, my body changes. I have grown older. I see the world from a broader perspective, with deeper depth and understanding than when I was a child. I am older and wiser, or am I just older?
Lots of philosophical, spiritual and metaphorical questions this time of year. Well, after all, it is the zodiac month of Virgo; the analyst and critic. The one who helps others, works and serves the world, born with the intention to assist and improve, make better and healthier, stronger and more physically fit, humble and modest, respectful, thoughtful and considerate.
It’s Labor Day weekend and in Telluride that translates as TFF: Telluride Film Festival. The colors have started to change, autumn is in the air and the streets are filled with future film pundits and aspiring paparazzi. Ah, yes, another revolution around the Sun…here’s to 39 years of “film” in Telluride.
Elsewhere, harvest markets are full of produce, thoughts turn to winter and gathering firewood, putting food by. I’m canning and collecting, summer’s end is fast approaching. School has started and in Norwood on Friday night, the year’s first Maverick varsity football game will be played under their brand new, illuminating, state-of-the-art stadium lights. Happy harvest, happy TFF, happy self-refection and may the best show, team and Virgo-tempered temptation win the game.
Aries (Mar. 20-Apr.19) Virgo/Pisces full Moon energy brings matters of heart and head to fruition and illuminates issues of service and surrender. Where might you be over-analyzing or picking apart relationships when what you need to do is accept, forgive and go forth? Take a good look at what you can do to improve the way you feel rather than expecting others to do it for you.
Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20) This week’s “blue” Moon lights up everything and everyone with whom you are involved and committed. People and places, talk and activities revolve around you like a carnival ferris wheel. In the process, you may feel a bit maxed out or overdone by other people’s agendas and demands. Relax and enjoy the show as you practice patience and cultivate balance. After all, your life is good.
Gemini (May 21-June 21) As the Virgo Sun opposes the Pisces Moon and aspects every planet in our solar system, you may feel as if it’s all about you. And with jovial Jupiter now in mid-Gemini, you just might be right. At the very least, you are currently popular and in demand, expanding and exploring possibilities and potential. Go in directions that feel good; cultivate faith.
Cancer (June 21-July 22) Voluptuous Venus in late degree Cancer shimmers love and beauty upon those who embrace the Mother Earth’s bountiful gifts and cherish the fruits of her seasonal harvest. Nurture yourself and others with a delicious diet of fresh food, grown with love and free of toxins. Balance work with play, count your blessings and see the forest for the trees.
Leo (July 23-Aug.22) Heart-centered living and being comes naturally to those born under the Lion’s mantle, but for many it is a difficult place to get to. Objective, mechanistic, linear, logical left-brain thinking is often favored over right brain intuition, dreams, images, feelings and imagination. Now it’s time to balance the two; combine facts with fantasy and awaken the magic.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22) The “real world” of Virgo can shun the “woo-woo” realm of Pisces, but let’s face it, the two are eternally, cosmically linked. When you find yourself over-thinking, over-doing and over-analyzing people, places and things, you must let go. Otherwise, you get lost in the crazy kingdom of details, facts and foibles. Relax and release; sweet surrender keeps you sane.
Libra (Sep. 23-Oct. 22) Balance comes naturally to Libra, like a computer default or genetic DNA. And full Moons are all about balance, so tap into your inherent way of seeing and being. Virgo craves literal definition via facts and figures, shapes and sizes. Pisces loves to transcend and merge into the numinous One. A little bit here, a little bit there. Feel the magic, enjoy the show.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) A full “blue” Moon calls upon the fantastical as well as the factual. Look to friends, fellowships and support groups for grounded, down-to-earth solutions and ideas, but let your heart soar when it comes to love. Balance practical logic with intuitive feelings, recognizing the value of each. In all cases, be willing to accept responsibility for your choices.
Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 20) Looking for love in all the wrong places? Or simply searching for meaning in a world that seems lost? Whatever you are doing or feeling, take heart. Courage and confidence are lights on the hero’s journey, and you are the hero. Tap into your magical, mystical soul and let spirit guide your path. Surrender to faith and let go of trying to control outcomes. Culxxtivate faith.
Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19) Lunar light illuminates mental and spiritual realms, as well as the actual and virtual. Perception becomes definition in a dance of reality vs. fantasy. While the old line “money can’t buy happiness” is both true and false, you know material wealth must be tempered with emotional health. And that comes via loving and giving. Relax and let go. Trust and accept.
Aquarius (Jan. 19-Feb. 18) Lunar light shines upon your deepest, dearest dreams, encouraging you to follow your bliss and pursue your heart’s desires. The first step in getting what you want is knowing what you want, and now you know. Carve out a practical, realistic path to goal achievement, recognize the value of persistence and take it one day at a time. Perseverance futhers.
Pisces (Feb. 18-Mar. 20) As the Pisces Moon opposes the Virgo Sun and we experience the advent of a full “blue” Moon, take some time to rest and relax. Count your blessings, thank the spirits and give love to those you love. Relationship balance is important to relationship success. It’s a process of give and take. Speak your truth and listen to others. Life is good, enjoy it.
