ALACAZEM 2012.08.02

August 2 to 9, 2012    Visible Planets: Morning: Venus and Jupiter  Evening: Mars and Saturn

Accepting life on life’s terms. Challenging, at best.

The human Earth Walk is one of ups and downs, twists and turns; flat plateaus, peaks and valleys. And we can’t forget the rivers, floods, mudslides, landslides, fires, lakes, oceans, snow and rain, hail, thunder and lightning. In darkness and in light, happiness and sorrow, we travel the road of life. Each and every one of us is unique and yet the same. All of us have brains and hearts, thoughts and ideas, feelings and emotions. Sometimes we see life ripped away from us, people we love die. Others get lost in the shadowy prisons of addiction, indulgence, self-pity and self-destruction. Some discover joy, simplicity and inner peace. Some help others and many others need to be helped. We judge and misjudge, win and lose, make mistakes and achieve success. Everyone we meet is both a teacher and a student, a reflective mirror in which we see the ever-changing images of ourselves – good, bad, ugly, worthy, unworthy, beautiful, intelligent, funny, happy, sad, mad, glad…

Today I see the magnificent power and beauty of Mother Nature. I see myself reflected in the billowing clouds, the soft breeze, verdant green pastures and moist earth. I remain thankful for the monsoon rains and shining rainbows, the sweet Paonia cherries and juicy Palisade peaches. I just made apricot jam with fruit from our tree and we’re eating the first red tomatoes from our greenhouse. I feel lucky and blessed, grateful to be here, living and breathing, a part of it all.

The maternal Cancer zodiac month has drawn to a close. The proud and courageous Lion has taken the throne and this week, we experience the magical, mythical days of mid-summer. August 7th marks the yearly 15º Leo cross-quarter day – the halfway point between summer solstice and autumnal equinox – and is one of four days in our home-planet’s yearly orbit around the Sun, when the magnetic currents circulating from the Earth’s north to south pole and the Sun to Earth’s gravitational pull reaches maximum intensity @ 45º. (The other 3 days take place @ 15º Aquarius [Feb. 5], 15º Taurus [May 6] and 15º Scorpio [Nov. 8]). These are days when electromagnetic forces peak, sunlight reaches a specific point of arc, days shorten or lengthen and seasonal energies shift. Plants and animals metabolically and instinctively respond to the changing light and electromagnetic forces, seasonal migration and weather patterns kick in, mating and other behaviors awaken in life’s dance of birth, death and rebirth. On and on; cycles and seasons, interconnected worlds without end.

Take notice of the sensations, stirrings, thoughts and feelings you experience this week. Also take note of what you see. For me, it’s the first yellowing leaves, crisper mornings and a rather mystical sense of autumn in the air. Another revolution around the Sun. Blessings, peace and starlight. Happy mid-summer!

Aries (Mar. 20-Apr.19) Massive global and personal changes continue as the radical, transformative energies of Uranus square Pluto  awakens, disrupts and destroys facades, illusions, systems and behaviors that no longer work. The power of this volatile combo intensifies whatever comes your way, so be the best you can possibly be. Honest and true, it’s up to you.

Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20) Leo/Aquarius full Moons are perennially powerful turning points for the Bull, and this one is no different. Family events, circumstances and relationships intensify as others ask you to be a compassionate spiritual guru, down-to-earth problem solver and altruistic philanthropist all at the same time. Breathe deep and stay centered in truth. One day at a time.

Gemini (May 21-June 21) Humanity is in the midst of a dimensional shift of consciousness and we have reached a major turning point, tipping point. As we transition from the Pisces to Aquarian Age, it’s essential that each person contribute his or her unique gifts. As a multi-talented, multi-faceted magician of multiple realms, you must give the most of your very best. Think and act!

Cancer (June 21-July 22) As a child of the Moon, you are quintessentially equipped for communing with the metaphysical magic and magnificence of monthly lunar cycles. And, lucky you, it’s now mid-summer, when devas dance and fairies sparkle. Seek out beautiful, natural environments and touch the Mother Earth. Eat sweet fruit and fresh vegetables. Sustain and nurture life.

Leo (July 23-Aug.22) Happy birthdays continue as candles glow and cakes are cut. Gift yourself with serenity, joy and love on your special day. Make your birthday extra special this year by taking extra good care of yourself – be as healthy and happy as possible – on the actual day of your birth. The wild and reckless, metamorphic collective changes continue. Seek inner peace and discover grace.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22) You may be asked to take a more visible role in society or your professional life as several planets in your solar 10th house shine upon well-earned achievements and accomplishments. Family members may also ask you for advice, guidance and direction. Tap into your own inherent wisdom via heartfelt knowledge. You have everything you need.

Libra (Sep. 23-Oct. 22) The Leo/Aquarius full Moon is usually one of the year’s two most vital and convivial lunations, a time to party with friends, share love and reach for the stars. This year, however, you may feel a bit more cautious and reserved when it comes to revelry and indulgence, and that’s good news. Discover the magic of Mother Nature, count blessings and choose joy.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) Mid-summer magnetism, intensified solar activity and altered electromagnetic fields dance and dive in a world spinning at warp speed when it comes to individual and collective change. These times are charged with powerful awakenings and breakthroughs, often experienced as radical or uncomfortable. Embrace the moment and go with the flow.

Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 20) Summer trips and midnight jaunts may be on your agenda as mid-summer magic twists and turns you down the road of life. Whatever path you choose or map you carry, be essentially true to spirit and one with the universe. Pay attention to what comes your way. Many of life’s travelers miss the beauty of the journey, focused on the destination. Not you; enjoy!

Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19) Each full Moon reveals how far we’ve come and how much further we have to go. What was born at the Leo new Moon has now taken shape and form. You must do what you can with what you’ve got. Focus on your own back yard – what you can do to make your self and your life better – rather than attempting to control or change others. It’s all about freedom.

Aquarius (Jan. 19-Feb. 18) The people who mean the most to you and your strongest commitments emerge in a dance of sharing and pairing, give and take. Examine yourself in the light of your relationships and recognize that what we see in others is often what we are ourselves. Where can you be more loving and giving? Have you forgotten how to say thank you? Show appreciation; discover joy.

Pisces (Feb. 18-Mar. 20) Guardian spirits, dimensional shifts, spiritual moments and idealistic visions may come and go in an ethereal dance of mystery and magic as Mother Nature shimmers with the natural, energetic forces of mid-summer. Surrender to the power of the invisible and ethereal. Take in a magnificent sunset or the sparkling beauty of the night sky. Enjoy life!
