25 Apr BLUES & BREWS ANNOUNCES LINE-UP
The 19th Annual Telluride Blues & Brews Festival proudly announces its initial 2012 lineup today
Phil Lesh & Friends, Gov’t Mule, and the B-52s headline the September Festival weekend, (September 14 – September 19). Other festival guests include Chris Robinson Brotherhood, March Fourth Marching Band, Tab Benoit, Little Hurricane and The Lee Boys, with more acts to be announced in May. Tickets are on sale now.
“We are extremely excited with the lineup this year in Telluride,” said Steve Gumble, Festival Director. “Phil Lesh, Gov’t Mule and the B-52’s are sure to give stellar performances – the festival weekend boasts amazing and legendary musical talent with much more to come!”
Those looking for the inspiration for the current jam band movement need look no further than Phil Lesh. A founding member of the venerable American musical institution, the Grateful Dead, Lesh has continued to inspire while pushing the envelope with his highly evolved musical performances. His set in Telluride this fall is one of the most anticipated in the festival’s 19-year history.
For guitarist/lead vocalist Warren Haynes and his band, Gov’t Mule, creating a new album is akin to walking a tightrope: they write new songs that please old fans, while hopefully garnering new ones. It’s not a surprise they’re coined one of the hardest working bands in rock history.
It is a well known fact that the B-52s are the World’s Greatest Party Band. And with 30 years and over 20 million albums into their career, The B-52s remain among the most beloved rock stars ever. Their performance in Telluride Town Park are not to missed as the group serves up their unique blend of music, a combination of rock’n’roll, funk and retro-hip music.
Renowned as one of the most scenic and intimate music festivals in the country, Telluride Blues & Brews takes place in the world-famous resort town of Telluride, Colorado, surrounded by 13,000-foot mountain peaks. The three-day celebration offers an eclectic mix of live blues, funk, jam bands, rock, gospel and soul performances, all accompanied by some of the best microbreweries in the country. Food and craft vendors, children’s activities and late night juke joint shows round out the mix.
Tickets for 3-day passes, Juke Joint passes, and camping passes are on sale now. Single-day tickets go on sale June 15.. 3-Day passes are $170.00.
