TELLURIDE NEWB: BLACK IRON BOWL AND PALMYRA

TELLURIDE NEWB: BLACK IRON BOWL AND PALMYRA

Well, it’s safe to say that we’ve hit a bit of a hiccup this winter season. While last year started off slow and picked up in January, this season started on a high note and has since then fizzled – or melted – away. Sure, we’re doing better than most resorts (that’s not saying much), but at this point last year, Black Iron Bowl and Palmyra Peak were open.

So, while we all pray for snow and spread rumors of upcoming storms, check out our video from last season of all the hike-to runs off of the Prospect Lift. They’ve got to open soon; they’ve just got to.

Ed. note: Since this was posted last week, we did get more snow, and much of the hike-to skiing at Telluride is now open. Some runs are closed temporarily for avalanche control. Be careful out there!

I am not sure where you were yesterday, but I clocked a foot of powder at my home here in the mountains of Telluride this morning!

You really ought to try to get some good skiers in the video to match Telluride’s awesome terrain, just a thought!!
